Florina Neagu, M.D.

Board-Certified Allergy and Immunology

Dr. Neagu is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania. She went to complete her internship and residency in internal medicine at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Subsequently Dr. Neagu completed a fellowship in Allergy, Asthma  and Immunology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Neagu brings her experience of practicing five years in Oklahoma City and another five years here in Naples, where she cares for patients of all ages with nasal and skin allergy, food allergy, anaphylaxis, angioedema and asthma.

Dr. Florina Neagu is a board-certified Allergy and Immunology doctor in Naples, FL, currently practicing at Integris Physician Group of Florida. Specializing in Allergy and Immunology, Dr. Neagu has a particular interest in nasal and ocular allergies, sinus diseases, asthma, food allergy, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, immunodeficiencies and preventing anaphylaxis. Concurrently, she also provides a wide variety of other treatments and procedures.

Florina Neagu is an Allergist-Immunologist, currently associated with the Integris Physician Group of Florida. She is also known for being a guest speaker at the Oklahoma Family Physician Society as well as the ISSAI case conference in Illinois, where she presented on the “35-week neonate with respiratory distress.”

Dr. Neagu is very thorough and detail-oriented which has allowed her to care for complicated patients and those with multiple needs. She listens carefully to the concerns of her patients and personalizes treatment plan for each individual.

 She also employs evidence-based medicine strategies in her clinical practice. She strives to remain up to date with current allergy and asthma literature.

Dr. Neagu values education and has accepted rotating medical students and residents (of pediatric, internal medicine and family medicine) into her clinic since 2014

On a personal note, Dr. Neagu and her husband who is an endocrinologist in the same group, and their two children – enjoy activities in the great Naples outdoors, getting lost in good literary works, travel and sport activities.

Florina Neagu Received her Medical Doctor (MD) Diploma from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Timisoara, Romania in the year 2000, where she graduated with a stellar License Examination.

I have completed my further education in Chicago IL at RUSH and UIC.

She also completed her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics and Chemistry from the Zinca Golescu College, Pitesti, Romania in the year 1994.

Medical Education

After graduating from University of Timisoara College of Medicine, Romania, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.   

Dr. Neagu was then accepted at Rush University Allergy and Immunology Fellowship program in Chicago and completed this fellowship in 2012.

Dr. Neagu performed research in topics including asthma and vitamin D insufficiency, medication allergy and nasal allergies. 

In 2016, she was named Volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Oklahoma Department of Medicine and for the past 4 years served the community of Oklahoma at the Oklahoma Allergy and Asthma Clinic and Allergy , Asthma and Clinical Research Center.

Dr. Florina Neagu has made valuable contributions to research in allergy and immunology. From June 2017 to June 2018, she worked as an investigator at the Allergy, Asthma & Clinical Research Center, where she led multiple studies on asthma, immune system disorders, and nasal polyps. Earlier, from January 2010 to June 2012, Dr. Neagu co-investigated a study at Rush University Medical Center and J. Stroger Hospital at Cook County, looking into how low vitamin D levels affect asthma control, allergies, obesity, and infections in children from low-income families. Her research at Weiss Memorial Hospital and the University of Illinois at Chicago, from January 2009 to June 2010, focused on how doctors choose antibiotics for patients with a history of antibiotic allergies, using surveys to understand their decision-making process. Through her work, Dr. Neagu has enhanced our understanding on how to improve treatment approaches for better patient care.
